Forwarder forced to cover uninsured importer

The forwarder is usually the first point of contact for the customer, and this means getting caught up in claims that are properly matters for insurers or carriers. These claims carry genuine exposure: Advocate Gill Nadel reviews a recent Israeli claim in which the plaintiff succeeded in obtaining compensation against a forwarder as principal, in spite of the importer’s failure to procure insurance.
